"Missing bulbs in bed lamps for patients"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

My mother is admitted in bay B second floor of MRI and nurses have had difficulty in taking her blood in low light specially when bulbs are missing in the patients wall lamps which is shameful to say the least. 8 patients in one ward is way too much.

Response from Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We were very sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website about your mother's experience as an in- patient at the MRI. It is very difficult to be able to investigate specifically and respond with a detailed explanation as to why this issue occurred on one of the ward areas without having any detail as to which ward specifically your Mother was staying on. However, when issues with facilities do occur, the staff on the ward are able to contact our Estates and Facilities department and report any issues to them so that they may be resolved. We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly about this. If you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk they can take your specific details and we will look into why this error occured.
