"asked my opinion at Wathwood Hospital"

About: Wathwood Hospital

(as the patient),

I was psychotic when I committed my offence in 2012, a court sectioned me and I was sent to Wathwood hospital. At first it was quite daunting to find myself in an unfamiliar environment but I was treated with sensitivity by staff, they listen to me and support me through difficult times. I am encouraged to have an active role in my care by speaking to my named nurse. I am always asked for my opinion around my care and treatment.

I am grateful that under British law I was sent to an establishment like Wathwood hospital…

Thank you for the positive feedback about the care you have received at Wathwood. Throughout the hospital, staff do strive to be sensitive and offer empathy to patients. There is a strong belief in importance of collaboration and ensuring the patients have as much involvement in their care as possible, so it is great to hear that you do feel that your opinion matters. I hope that you continue to feel supported and involved in your care during the rest of your time at Wathwood.
