I have been involved with the IRIS team throughout the involvement of helping my friend. She has short term memory, a lot of health issues, and she has lost her partner of 30+ years. A man who did virtually everything for my friend, giving her medication, cooking etc. shopping to name a few. She couldn’t cope with his death and came out after a week with carers from the hospital. She then tried to cut herself and was admitted again for a week. When she came home she started having the IRIS team coming in they knew how to talk to her and realised how she likes them and looked forward to them talking more. She really liked them and looked forward to them coming. She seems better in her mood but unfortunately they can’t keep coming for good.
Now she has another care package with another company and I feel she isn’t doing as well, she’s not eating like she was. I hope she eats well soon.
