About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I felt this apt was a total waste of time. My husband had to take time off work to come with me as I phoned to ask if it was just a consultation or treatment & was told probably treatment. So he lost money we cant afford to lose. My consultation consisted of nothing different from what my GP had already done. So why was this not a referral to have treatment as my GP said instead of more pointless visits all over. I now have to wait even longer for another referral to a hosp & area I don’t even know anything about & I'm not keen about going to.

I am sorry that you feel that the appointment with the APCS service was not appropriate for you.

All referrals are reviewed by Dr's at TRAQS in line with referral pathways which have been agreed by the GP's within the Telford and Wrekin CCG.These pathways identify which patients are suitable for APCS or if a patient needs to be seen by a consultant at a hospital.

The Dr's at the APCS service can only review the information in the referral letter from your GP.

Sometimes patients do need to have a physical assessment by the clinicians within APCS to confirm whether or not they are suitable to be treated by them.

All patient's who need to be seen at a hospital should be offered a Choice of where they are seen.

As all postings are anonymous I cannot look at your specific referral.
