"Why not speed things up and cut out the middle man?"

About: Shropshire and Staffordshire Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

Each appointment took a long time e. g. waited for x ray longer than necessary. Then waited for call about referral. Then waited for letter about referral. Then waited a long time for a letter to ring clinic for an actual appointment which was then available the next day!

Why not speed things up and cut out the middle man?

Meanwhile while waiting for physio most people’s conditions will worsen (3 months elapsed from original consultation! )

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our request for feedback.

Unfortunately TRAQS do not arrange Xrays and therefore the wait you experienced is outside our control.

TRAQS contact patients within 5 working days for routine referrals and within 1 working day for urgent referrals. We are not aware of referrals until the practice has created them and the time this takes can vary between practices depending upon their own processes,

From the information you have provided I believe that you chose to attend Maddocks Physiotherapy Clinic. The clinic manage their own appointments and waiting times vary from week to week depending upon the number of referrals they receive.

TRAQS ensure that all referrals are trackable in case any referral goes astray at it's destination.

If you feel that your condition has worsened whilst you are waiting for an appointment we always advise patients to speak to their GP and if the GP believes that they need to be seen sooner the GP can request a more urgent appointment.
