"Day Surgery Centre (Eye J) visit, Saturday 31st..."

About: Manchester Royal Eye Hospital

Following my recent admission to Eye J, I felt compelled to write a glowing report about all the team who looked after me, following removal of a chalazion from my eyelid. The Ward Manager who admitted me was wonderful and really put me at ease after realising I was quite anxious. It helped that my husband was allowed to sit and wait with me prior to heading into the theatre area too. Prior to my procedure the nurse practitioner was very thorough, talking me through the consent form and explaining what exactly would be happening. In fact all the staff who looked after me (including the theatre nurse, who kindly held my hand during the anaesthetising) were wonderful. The unit itself is lovely and clean. It was a real personal and attentive experience and you did not feel like 'just a number'. The aftercare instructions were thoroughly explained to me prior to discharge. Well done and a big thank you to all of the team. I would be so very grateful if you could pass these comments onto the staff who were working on this day, as they were all amazing.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website regarding the care you received on 31st January 2015 at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication. It was reassuring to hear that you thought the care and treatment you received was excellent and that you were reassured by staff on the ward. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to the Ward manager and the staff involved.
