"It’s a marvelous service"

I had broken my upper arm a week earlier and on this particular day my whole arm became black and blue with my lower arm swelling up and becoming very painful. I called 111 as it was late and I needed advice. The 111 service sent a doctor round to see me who examined my arm and reassured me that the swelling would come down naturally, which it has, and that the pain would also go.

It’s a marvelous service. I didn’t mind waiting a couple of hours for the doctor to arrive; it was reassuring to know that someone would be coming.
