I don't often go to the doctors unless I really need too. I'm the type of person that takes a paracetamol for a headache when the pain is unbearable if I take one at all! So I decided to go the eye informary because I was poked in the eye and couldn't see only blurred (a day later, may I add still no improvement) only to be told by the doctor in the emergency eye infirmary it's a "red herring" and I just have allergies in both eyes clear on the telescope and that's why I can't read/see straight with my eye...or maybe because of a possible viral infection like conjunctivitis which are common to effect one eye more than the other...(even though my eye didn't hurt before it was poked...)he said the reason I can't see the letters on the eye test is because my eyes are watery and wouldn't take it that I genuinely couldn't see...after the 5th request to read the same line I've just told the doctor I couldn't read, he then prescribes me two sets of eye drops and recommends i look further into my allergies and that there is no scratch on my eye it's just too many tears effecting the sight...£16 later (little did I know I've purchased what I could of bought in boots) over the counter "artificial tears for dry eyes" eye drops and "hay fever relief" eye drops....considering my eyes are "watering too much" which is why I apparently can't see straight, I've now been prescribed something for dry eyes which I don't need! problems with the NHS and people going to AnE for no reason the doctors seem not to care and they fob even the real people of with mediocre treatment! Oh and about the NHS having no money must also Rubbish because I don't see how as I just spent £16 on eye drops that I could of bought for £8.59 in boots! waste of time! Puts absolutely no faith in doctors or the Nhs at all! I am one of those people that wouldn't go to the doctor even if I had chest pains and the reason is They don't do anything about it anyway! Last time I came into AnE was because I was up all night with swollen tonsils and couldn't breath- sent home and told to gargle soluble parectamol (I am still having recurring tonsil problems months later) anyway Two days later still can't see writing in my right eye without having to squint and even then it hurts and it's blurred! So Cheers for the help! I will take my prescribed medicine as I better had use my money wisely and see what happens lets hope I haven't damaged my eye! :-( and not wasted my time entirely! not satisfied at all! In addition to my comment I'd like to highlight that My nurse was lovely and compassionate! And derriford you are welcome for the extra funds towards that huge helipad you are building! :-(
