"I have been on the phone for 45 minutes getting..."

I have been on the phone for 45 minutes getting passed from pillar to post trying to get put through to the Maudsley in order to trace a relative. The phone number is a switchboard and the operator who even though tried her best was as useful as a chocolate fireguard. Why is there no direct number ? Why do all the phones go to answerphone? Why is there noone to speak to ?

I'm sorry to hear that you were having difficulty getting through via the Trust switchboard. I'm not sure whether we were experiencing some technical dificulties on that day. If you ever experience a similar experience trying to trace a relative or for most other issues you can always call the Patient Advice Liaison Service (PALS) on our freephone number 0800 7312861. The PALS team are often the best route when you have a query like like.
