"Care received in Ward 5D, Crosshouse Hospital"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Care of older people

(as a relative),

My mum was recently a patient in Ward 5D. This is her second stay in the ward.

During both times we as a family have always felt better that mum was receiving great care. All staff are caring and very patient. Nothing is ever a bother to them, we were kept well informed of mum's problems and what was being done to help her.

Often it is difficult to get blood from mum's veins, she was always treated with patience and respect. Staff were very considerate of her difficulties and how awful the whole experience could be for her. They spent a lot of time with her trying to make the experience as easy as possible for her.

Sister McLaughlan and CNM Pamela Wheeler went out of their way to help mum and ensured she and all patients were always well cared for. Mum has sepsis and pneumonia, which was very frightening for her. Staff spent some time explaining to mum what treatment she was receiving and that she was in good hands. She was more confident after that.

Thank you to all the staff on Ward 5D. If mum has to return to this ward we will have full confidence that the very best care is being provided to her.

Dear Romajaro,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of your Mum's care in 5D. I've passed this on to Sister McLaughlan and CNM Pamela Wheeler to share with the rest of the staff.

I'm so pleased to hear that things went well in, I'd imagine, very difficult and stressful circumstances.

Kind regards,

Claire

Dear Romajaro

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge the care recieved by your mum. Its always good for our clinical teams to recieve positive feedback.

It sounds like a really frightening and distresing time for for mum and your family and Im pleased that we could help to alleviate that in some way.

Kind regards
