"Some feedback on the Surgical Assessment Unit"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My husband has just spent a week in SMH with acute pancreatitis. All treatment was swift and professional and we are grateful for all the care we received. Our comments are to provide useful feedback, not a complaint.

Patients who are unable to leave their beds cannot read the information boards that give information about different uniforms. These should be printed on the paper tray mats that are used for serving meals. Even better would be an info leaflet given to each patient or carer giving ward details, phone numbers etc.

Too few doctors introduced themselves by name and position. Junior doctors were better than more senior doctors. This is a courtesy that every patient deserves.

These small details are important when you are alone and worried.
