My mum went in for a scheduled hip replacement to this hospital. There were 2 patients sharing a family room so once they were back from operation they had to share a call button. The room was so cold that my mum sent me home for fleece tops and a blanket. The call button kept going off on its own all night and the following day. The toilet in the bathroom was not suitable for the attachment needed after hip replacement surgery. We had to wait until 7.00pm to be moved because there were no rooms to be moved to they said. There were plenty of empty rooms but they were for premium care. The room is not suitable for double or hip rep use but let's pack them in and charge the NHS when we have not really got room. The staff other than the sister are lovely but I have concerns about her going back there for the other hip. There were other problems with the care but I am complaining directly to the hospital about that. If you don't have the room to provide consistent care don't offer the bed and charge the NHS!
