"Emergency operation waiting time"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

My Husband was rushed into the Sussex county Wednesday evening eventually he went to a ward after staying in A&E all evening and night, He was told by a surgeon he was first on the list so NBM,at 9pm the following evening he still was waiting for surgery, he then was told Saturday am (today) he would be third on the list,it is now 9,37pm and my poorly husband is still waiting for his operation, I am absolutely disgusted with the waiting times he has had to suffer with not even a mouth wash and One sandwich in 3.5 days...The lack of communication is awful, I understand they get busy but something needs to be done to make sure these poor patients get operations when they come in for an emergency...I will never opt for an operation there again! A burst Bowel coming through a his belly button as the fistula he has burst inside his bowel, he has asked for dressing change and bedding and a gown as it wasn't automatically done the following morning...As for a training hospital this is shocking..
