"visiting a patient at Eastbourne DGH"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a friend),

The ward was so understaffed that the patient (who has terminal cancer and would be in pain if I tried to get him off the bed), had his meal go cold, because there were not enough nurses on duty to lift him up to eat.

I eventually found a nurse able to help him to sit up and eat, but not until his food had gone cold.
