"My hysteroscopy at solihull day procedures unit"

About: Solihull Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I had a hysteroscopy and biopsies done on the day procedures ward at solihull hospital.

Although I was expecting to have a general anaesthetic for medical reasons it was decided it would be too risky so I was offered a local anaesthetic instead. I was so nervous about this I nearly called the whole thing off but I am very glad I didn't.

The care and compassion I was received was quite above and beyond what I was expecting. I was made to feel that everything would be done to make the procedure as comfortable as possible and this allayed my fears.

The kindness of Julie the staff nurse on duty was quite exceptional. The anaesthetic team were extremely professional and offered me a little sedation and Laura (hope I have her name correct) went as far as holding my hand throughout the procedure which was much appreciated. The surgeon Mrs Hutchens was extremely skilled and is a credit to her profession.

Thanks to everyone involved... I am very grateful for the care I received.

I am delighted to hear that you had such good care from the gynaecology and day care unit team at Solihull. I will make sure they get your feedback and your thanks (as well as mine).

Thanks for taking the time to give the feedback, it gives the staff a real boost, especially at a time when the NHS is in the media so much.
