"Total embarassment at my GP's surgery"

About: Mid Essex PCT

(as the patient),

My urine specimen got lost and I was asked to pop in and give another.

The reception is in the waiting room and all the patients waiting can hear any conversation. I explained why I had called in which was embarrassing in itself, then I was asked name, address, age and given a phial and told to go to the loo and do a specimen, all in earshot of the waiting room.

I brought it back, was given a bag to put it in and was dismissed. I am still feeling embarrassed and just hope all the people in the waiting room have short memories and don't recognise me in the steet.

How dare these healthcare workers treat patients with such contempt? I really don't want to have to go back again.
