I was referred to heartlands cardiology dept by my Gp , as my local hospital had a waiting time to see a cardiologist of 3 months and heartlands a waiting time of only 8 days( how can thar be walsall hospital?). Despite the fact that it is a three hour long trip from where I live to heartlands , it is well worth it! The staff in all departments I visited were polite and helpful , all questions I asked were answered and I never waited more than ten mins after my appointment time to be seen. In particular, the young lady on reception at the cardiology ward is excellent, as was the member of staff who conducted my echogcardiogram and the nurse who fitted my holter monitor. I was very impressed also to note the the level of infection controll apparent on ward 6 , cardiology, when I went tomthevward to drop off my holter monitor, all visitors were asked to wash hands with soap and water and not allowed to enter the ward until they had done so. Thank you heartlands for the excellent service you have provided. One little bit of constructive criticism would be, please clean the ladies toilets more regularly in the ground floor area, where the costa coffee shop is, to be fair they must get a lit of use so it's hard to keep them clean, but all in all, I'm glad I went to heartlands , despite the journey. Thank you !
