"A 7 E and surgery"

I was transferred (well I say transferred, was handed an AA roadmap) to Wexham park from my local hospitals A&E after a very serious cut to my thumb with a circular power saw (they removed a bit of bone at the first A&E). I managed to find a lift to the hospital where I waited in A&E for over 4 hrs even though I was informed the plastic surgery team was supposed to be waiting for me. When I saw a doctor I was sent for more xrays as the ones I'd already had taken at the first hospital were lost. I was then informed that I needed surgery under local anaesthetic, and would be told when and where by phone in the morning, and I was discharged - even though I had damaged bone, tendon and severed a nerve - which surprised me. The next morning I woke to a text asking me to return to the hospital to be admitted for iv antibiotics, so I made the long journey again to be held in your A&E for over 4/5 further hours, even though I was told to come in. At 7:20pm I was told I had a bed, so the lovely nurse walked me up to the ward, only to be told by a confused receptionist there was no bed there. The nurse spoke to the bed manager, and in an hour or so I was taken to the surgical assessment ward. At around 11 pm I was told that I was booked for surgery the next day, and told to go nil by mouth. My nurse the following morning after the changeover was shocked and surprised that I had not been put on a saline drip as I was due surgery, and also surprised that I had been given oral pain relief that morning but had no name tag. I was also surprised that I was not informed about my operation being changed from a local op to one under general anaesthetic, I only found out when the anaesthetist visited on the morning of the op And to top my stay off, after the op my wife was phoned by the hospital and told I was being kept overnight, while I was on the recovery ward was being discharged, so I had to wait an extra couple of hours to get home because no one had come to collect me. All of the nursing staff were pleasant, but the service failed me I feel. I'm so no, not very impressed by my stay thank you, hopefully my follow up appointments will be better.
