"Unplanned acute admission"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

I was admitted via a/e on the 18/12/2014 having been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis to gate 32 surgical admissions. I was given an individual room due having had d and v prior to admission and cared for their for 4 days before being transferred to gate 33 where I stayed for a further 14 days. During that time I cannot praise the staff caring for me enough From the domestic staff through to the senior consultants everyone I en counted were extremely efficient and above all very caring towards me. The nursing staff in particular were incredibly dedicated, often going over and above the call of duty by working over their already tiresome 12 and a half hour shifts to ensure the staff on the following shift were updated to the events of the day.All other members of staff including phlebotomists , clinical support staff, porters, and in particular radiography staff, all made what could easily have been a frightening first time hospital admission pleasant and virtually pain free due to their professional ability in performing their roles and putting patients at ease.In this current economic climate everyone seems to be complaining about the NHS. However i for one cannot praise them enough for the treatment I received throughout my unexpected stay. Yours Sincerely Mrs Celia Smith
