"Ward c3 excellent"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

All of the staff on c3 know how to treat a patient with care and end of life care as our mum sadly passed away on Saturday 17th of January after being in hospital for a short time. Staff on the ward were great with mum nurses, auxiliary gave mum great care and made her very comfortable which gave us peace of mind leaving her in there care each evening.when mums time to leave us we were informed on everything that would happen and when it finally did we were given time to say our last goodbye an not rushed . Thank you c3 it ment alot

Dear Anonymous Condolences on losing your mother and many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our C3 ward and their care for your mother, thank-you for taking the time to do so. I will make sure your appreciation is passed onto the team who will be very pleased to hear that your recent experience with us was really positive as we always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care. This is especially important in the final days of someone's life which can often leave a lasting image with family, I am so pleased to hear that you were kept well informed and had the chance to say goodbye in your own time- something which i am sure made a lot of difference to both you as a family and your mother. If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this bearable for you we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every family who are sadly saying their final farewells to relatives in our hospitals and services. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471/ 01254 733704 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk. Or if you would like to share your experience in confidence with an independent organisation please contact Healthwatch BwD on 01254 504985 or info@healthwatchblackburnwithdarwen.co.uk Many thanks again for taking the time to comment, Wendy Stobbs, Senior Patient Experience Facilitator
