"My dignity was respected"

About: Northern General Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I spent 6 days at Northern General Hospital and found the level of care to be excellent. All staff were kind and helpful and what I consider to be best is how often staff spent time with me and were around to take blood pressure checks and cholesterol levels. I felt like there was always someone around if I needed help. The consultants communicated very clearly with me and reassured me about procedures and tests. I wasn’t at all worried. I had diarrhoea and was very dehydrated. I had a drip for most of my stay and had one endoscopy which was unpleasant but tolerable. All staff gave me the impression they were genuinely interested in me and cared for my health. I have no complaints. My dignity was also respected at every step.
