I suffered what I later learned to be a TIA on Sunday 21st June. I had minor reoccurrences the next day. Having phoned my doctor for an appointment on Monday 22nd, I got an appointment with him on Thursday 25th. If I need to see a doctor quickly, I prefer to see someone who knows my medical history! After seeing me he referred me immediately to the fast track TIA clinic at the Nottingham City Hospital where I was seen on Friday 26th. I had a very quick response as I was examined and given a CT scan the same day. The consultant referred me for an MRI scan. My appointment for this is on Monday 6th July. I think I received very thorough attention but when I saw the consultant he said he could not get an MRI scan for me on the Friday afternoon; do they shut down early on Friday afternoons and if so why?
