"Adult admission with severe headache"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

I was in extreme pain and distress and could not stop being sick when 111 sent the paramedic out to me. She called the ambulance and I was taken to A&E Treliske. The paramedic and ambulance medics started the correct treatment, pain relief and anti sickness, so by the time I reached A&E I was improving although still unwell. The staff were all fantastic. There were some very poorly people around and as I improved I felt a bit of a fraud. However they did not make me feel like that, were very thorough assessing the situation and I have nothing but praise for everyone I came into contact with. I would say they coped incredibly well with a patient in the cubicle next to me who was gobsmackingly loud and rude to them. This was 9.30ish on a Monday morning, not a Saturday night drunk, which would of course have been just as unacceptable. I felt so sorry for them having to cope with that!
