Initially visited walk in centre at Crawley Hospital which was very good and I was seen within about an hour. X rays confirmed a cheekbone fracture and they organised a CT scan at East Surrey and a follow up appointment in the MaxFax clinic at East Grinstead, having spoken to both hospitals on the phone.
East Surrey is the weakest link! What a shambles. Spent about 5 hours to have the CT scan and be told to go home. I was still put through all the pre assessment checks even though the CT scan had been pre arranged. One Practitioner did at least try to short cut the system to speed things up.
A senior doctor in the A&E department was on their facebook page on their mobile and didn't even look up from the desk when I complained of being in pain! Absolute farce in my opinion. I would not allow mobile phones in A&E!
