I've been a patient at this hospital for the last 19 years and have nothing but the utmost praise for the outstanding care from doctors and nurses alike at this hospital. However waiting times can be long. It's not unusual to be there 3/4 hours as you are always first seen by a nurse who checks vision and then have a further wait to see the doctor. I believe this is being addressed so hopefully in the future waiting times will be reduced. The Pharmacy service today however was shockingly poor. I was told it would be 15 minutes wait. No problem with that. However I do have a problem with it having taken 45 minutes with no communication in that time when this could very easily have been done. In addition I had requested a copy of the form to take to my GP as the request stated my GP would have to,prescribe further drops. I was told this would be given to me with the eye drops. Unfortunately I didn't check and it wasn't till I got home that I realised it wasn't there. Whilst I appreciate problems can occur that cause delays., patient communication is key and there's no excuse for that.
