"Excellent treatment over the years at Bedford"

About: Bedford Hospital South Wing / Trauma and orthopaedics Bedford Hospital South Wing / Urology

(as a carer),

My mother was admitted to hospital in 2007 with septicaemia, ecoli and renal failure and not expected to live. She spent eight weeks in Elizabeth Ward and three in the Archer Unit but due to her deafness I had to spend about ten hours a day with her, to answer any questions as she not only could not hear anything but was too ill to respond. During all her time on the Ward and again in the Archer Unit, we were given every help to make her stay as comfortable as possible. About a year after leaving hospital, however, she suffered a poisonous knee and this continues. She regularly attends appointments with Mr. Sood's clinic and recently her appointment had to be cancelled and was replaced by one in the middle of the only holiday my husband and I have had for nearly six years. We were devasted but a visit to the Appointments Desk today and a word with Liz changed all that. Within a very short space of time she rang me with another appointment for my Mother, before our holiday and I wish to thank both Liz and the hospital in general for all their exellent treatment, my Mother would have died had she not been admitted when she was.

Also, my husband has been into hospital on several occasions over the last couple of years and he has received the same excellent treatment as my Mother and I would like to thank Mr. Sharma for everything he has done for him.

Thank you South Wing.

Regards.
