"Fantastic Forth Valley Maternity"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as the patient),

I've had both my children at Forth Valley and I cannot fault the care I received during both my pregnancies or when in labour. All the midwifes were fantastic and made me feel at ease. I had a difficult second pregnancy and was in and out of hospital due to reduced movement and funny turns.

The staff never made me feel like I wasn't important and although they are run off their feet, were attentive and a credit to the NHS.

I also have to give particular recognition to the midwifes that delivered my 2 children. In July 2012 when I had my daughter, Jennifer and Carianne were amazing and I felt so at ease the whole time in the labour ward. Then just 2 months ago in November I had my son. This was after a lengthy induction and Julie who was my midwife was truly amazing. Although not long qualified I never felt nervous and trused her fully. All the staff in antenatal as well. I can't thank them enough for being so kind and professional.

I just wish hubby would let me have another baby so I could receive the excellent care again.

Response from Gail Bell, Deputy Head of Midwifery, Women and Children, NHS Forth Valley

Congratulations on the birth of your wee boy. I hope you are both well and you are not having too many sleepless nights!

Thank you so much for this positive feedback on your care. I will ensure all staff, especially the midwives mentioned, get a copy. I know they will be delighted to receive such excellent feedback.

I would to take this opportunity to wish you and your family well and to thank you once again for taking the time out of your busy day to post your thoughts.

Perhaps we will see you again??

With best wishes.
