"transfer of haematology"

About: New Cross Hospital

I have been having regular blood transfusions at the heart &lung centre for a long time, I was very happy with all aspects, lift up to third floor short distance to walk I also have heart problems, the ward was comfortable nurses brilliant. I had to attend snowdrop ward in the deansley centre on 10 th of Jan, and was mortified. .Once inside the doors I faced a long uphill climb followed by a maze of corridors,i had to stand for 10 mins to get my breath back, on reaching snowdrop the room was small and clostrophobic no windows to look out of and this makes a big difference when your there from half 8 till 5, but to top it all there are no radiators or heating of any sort in there, myself and the other patients were freezing. I had to drape my cardigan over my top half and my coat over my legs.Ileft for home around 5ish literally shaking I was ill all evening and couldn't even hold a warm cup of tea because of the shaking..Whoever made the decision to transfer to snowdrop needs to get this sorted out, Il 'be back there shortly and am already dreading the thought of it. I know they have wheel chairs to get you to the ward butat my age and with no-one to come with me wheelchairs are of no use without a porter to push it.
