"Horrendous car park"

About: Ilkeston Community Hospital

Have had need to go pretty regular to the hospital. Always have problems finding a car space. And i have a blue badge. So in theory can park anywhere. But they are parked on the grass, on the pavements, and even in the space outside the marked zones. The hospital know about this problem. So what are they going to do.

In an attempt to help alleviate the following have already been implemented: 1. A “patient only” parking area, with 36 spaces, has been set up outside the front of the hospital, which has improved patient flow. The area is regularly monitored to avoid it being abused 2. Staff parking permits – staff have been issued with parking permits in order to allow sites & services staff to monitor patient parking. 3. DCHS has applied for planning permission to increase the parking capacity by 100 spaces – planning application to be heard by the Borough council at the end of January.
