I feel like I need to write somewhere about the disgusting way I have been treated recently. Obviously it's my choice if I kill myself but it's not much of a choice. Despite begging for help for the last 6 weeks I am still highly suicidal and doubt I will be around much longer. I wanted to document this somewhere so people know that I did ask for help on numerous occasions. Crisis team fob you off with the usual list of distractions. Have a bath, go for a walk... In fact I'm certain you have to memorise these when you get a job with them, either that or they have a book of these lists at the side of each phone. Cmht visit for 15 minutes and can't wait to leave. Telling you you have capacity therefore I cant or wont help you. Such a helpful and supportive service in leeds isn't it? Not.

I am so very sorry to hear that you have been left feeling that no body cares. I have asked our Medical director to speak to the Crisis team ands I know that he would want to hear from you himself to look at the kind of support that we can offer you.

Ofcourse the things you are talking about are your own choice but we would rather you chose some other response. Please would you telephone the PALS team who will be happy to listen to you and put you in touch with the right people, you can either telephone them on 0113 3056620, or freephone 0800 0525790, or email pals.lypft@nhs.net.

Dear lostlostlost

I am sorry to hear about your current situation and your recent experience.

The most important thing at present is for you to see a mental health professional. I am aware that my colleague suggested that you contact our PALS service so that we can facilitate this for you.

I would not wish to dismiss your frustration but it is often hard for professionals to know how best to help people during a phone call. Everyone is different and everyone finds that different things help. Taking a bath or distracting yourself by going out for a walk can be useful to some people but not to others (like yourself).

Helping people to develop more individual plans is something that we need to do better. This would then allow people such as the Crisis Team to make more useful suggestions and engage with you in a more personal way. Your care co-ordinator would, I am sure, be happy to help you do this if you wish.

I hope that by the time you read this, you wil have contacted PALS and they have been able to contact your team so that they can see you in person.
