About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

We found my 85 year old mother lying in her own urine and faeces. She had no buzzer to call for help because it was coiled up on the main headboard behind her bed. The staff had lost mum's dentures so she was unable to speak or eat solid food. Staff told us that the dentures had probably been mislaid and then thrown away! Mum went in for a hip replacement. She is now very feeble and has now (since being in the hospital) contracted a chest infection. Staff look through you when you try to ask them a question. This hospital is a terrifying place for an old person to be, or any person for that matter.
