"Fantastic, caring and speedy service for my 85 yr..."

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

My father was referred to A&E on following an X-ray that showed a potential fractured ankle. He were initially seen within 15 mins and then just 20 minutes after that was seen by the minor ops unit. Within a very short space of time he had more X-rays, referred to various medical staff in the fracture clinic and two physiotherapists. The whole process was excellent and better than that, my father was made to feel like a person they cared about, not just another case to process. His helped him enormously and I know will be a real aid to his recovery over the next weeks and months. I'm currently listening to the news about the crisis in A&E departments and believe we need to support them for the superb work they do and ensure people don't abuse the service. Reception staff (who were also brilliant) need to be empowered to turn people away who could see their doctor. That having been said, my father had to wait three days to see his doctor about his broken ankle initially!!

Thank you for such a positive review of our A&E services. As you say, the department has been under unprecedented pressure in recent days. Despite this, colleagues are focussing on treating all patients with dignity and care and as individuals. They will be delighted to know that their extraordinary efforts are being appreciated!
