"The incompetence of Charing Cross Hospital continues"

About: Charing Cross Hospital / Plastic surgery

(as the patient),

I would like to share my experience of the hopelessness of the administrative staff at Charing Cross hospital which I feel continues still since my last visit there. Today after waiting at the counter for several minutes, I had to insist to the receptionist staff in Pilot Wing - who were chatting amongst themselves and playing with a battery driven toy dog on their counter - that one of them actually do their job and book me an appointment for my next visit to the Dressings clinic.

What a sad contrast to the excellent and professional care provided by Sister Marioma, the nurse who has been taking care of me in the Dressings Clinic for several weeks now.

In the meantime, the hospital’s Quality and Safety Co-ordinator for Neurosciences sent me an email in May saying that they would respond to my complaint which I wrote in April (about what happened when I was in Ward 10 North in March) no later than by late June.

Late June came and went, of course, so I emailed the person leading the investigation asking for him to email me a copy of the outcome. In the beginning of July I got a reply saying they still hadn’t finished.

You couldn’t make it up, could you?
