I visited on the evening of the 6th January with my daughter and grandson, I can not praise the staff enough, the recepitonist recognoised immediately that my grandson needed to be seen soon and sent my daughter straight through whilst I booked him in, we were triaged within minutes and the nurse was very empathetic to the situation and reassured my daughter, she was informative and attentive and caring in her manner. My grandson was then seen by a doctor, who too showed the same care and compassion and was reassuring and informative to the treatment he was to undergo, within a short period of time, we were transferred to Ash ward, the nursing staff there showed that same care and compassion and ensured that they checked on us on a regular basis and kept us informed of the progress of the care to be provided. Fortunattly, following blood test and investigations, by another caring and calm Dr who had to insert a cannula in his hand, he was allowed home at 2:30 am, however they ensured that we were happy to be discharged at that time of the morning and reassured us that should we have any concerns then to come straight back. I noted when we went through main A&E it was full and an patient had experienced a sudden collapse, the staff managed the situation in a calm and efficient manner, whilst maintaining the dignity of the patient at all times. Thank you to all the staff, sometimes a thank you is all you need to know you are doing a good job.
