"Cancellation"

I arrived for surgery with urology team, had to travel 50 miles, son had to take day off work, left me at hospital as was due to be kept in for 2 days, 4 and half hours later told surgery cancelled due to lack of beds, then had to wait nearly 3 hours to find someone able to drive all the way back to collect me, 200 miles travelled for no surgery. Rebooked for 15th january but really not feeling very confident that it is going to happen after listening to the news reports. Will be asking as soon as I arrive at 7am if surgery is definately going ahead, if not guaranteed will have to go home again with my lift otherwise will be stranded.
