I am so grateful that I was operated on today even though there was a bed crisis. It was so important to me that I had the ordeal brought to an end, I was struggling to cope. It was my first experience of surgery and I was very afraid. All staff were great, certain ones I want to thank especially. The student nurse who looked after me, she was kind and lovely and I'm glad she was there, the anaesthetic team made me feel calm and at ease. I was so so afraid, I don't remember being put to sleep and I felt fine when I woke up, I saw her on my way out and she remembered me and said bye with a big smile. So many people met with me this morning, the anaesthesia consultant, the surgeon, the nurse, the lady who took me to theatre (and the ones who were there when I woke up). I want to thank them all, my experience was nowhere near as bad, scary, painful or traumatic as I had expected. I also would like to think the EPAU team and the gynaecology team the doctor and her senior (and the male doctor who saw me the week before when I cried a lot) I never felt rushed and they went through everything with me with patience and detail. It's been 10 awful weeks and now it's over, I'm still sad at my loss of pregnancy but thanks to the staff and gynaecology team I will be able to get over it now.
