"maternity ward avoid!"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

I was classed as high risk due to bleeding heavily with my first daughter. So the second time round I rang as soon as my waters went to be told to come in asap. I got there wasn't in much pain so they let me go for a wonder. A few hours later I was in more pain so went back got checked was 2 cm dilated but they had no beds so I went away for a bit as I live half a hour away from the hospital. A few hours later I went back in agony but didn't look like I was in labour so someone tryed to send me home but I wanted to be checked and I was 4 cm. I was put in a delivery suit and the water pool was starting to run as that's what I wanted. My notes then got read and I got told I wasn't allowed a water birth even though after my local midwife said I should of been allowed 1. I gave birth 2 hours after this by the only nice midwife there. Another had to do my stitches as I'm needle phobic and apparently she's the best. Far from it! She didn't numb me as she couldn't and I pulled the tube out of my gas and air was screaming at her to stop as my gas and air wasn't working because I broke u, she just tole me I needed to cooperate and the gas and air was making me du lally! I was far from du lally, I was in agony! The after care was appalling, I got left in the suit for 4 hours, my son wasn't weighed and my other half had to change my blood stained sheets. At 1 point during the night I asked for sheets and got given them to do myself even though I felt ill and weak. I think it's also stupid you have to pay for a private room. I got put on a ward where everyone seamed to of had c sections, had lots of care and I just got left. Everyone's baby was crying bar mine so I didn't get any sleep. The next morning it took hours for someone to discharge me I asked 1 midwife to check the car seat before I went, 45 minutes later no one came so I got ready took my son to the desk only to be looked at rudly "has someone said you can go" yes hours ago but no one has checked the car seat as I asked. I then got told I've got to understand there busy, quite hard to believe when about 5 of them are stood chatting at reception! I'm truly scared by the way I was treated and I will definitely not be having any more babies after my experience!
