First time in this hospital. Terrible experience. I am 34 weeks pregnant and had to go on emergency last Friday the 2nd January, waited for 3 hours to be served! There were no enough chairs at reception and I was sent to the cafeteria while the reception was full of men and children. After 2 hrs wait I complained as not even my vital signal were taken (neither were for all other mums waiting like me) just after I complained the nurse decided to take our blood preassure and check our orine examples. A woman with an advanced pregnancy arrived and was asked to wait (same as all of us) but she had lost her baby! I couldn't believe she was kept there at reception as everyone else! When I was actually served and the midwife took me to the room, she was so unsympathetic towards me and the way I was feeling. She kept reading my maternity book and laughed because to her my symptoms seemed silly! The only good thing was that the Dr was very attentive and sympathetic but the overall experience was dreadful! I had heard really nice things about this hospital in terms of the technology and facilities specially for the maternity ward, howerver I pretty much prefer Queens Charlotte even with its old facilities the service there is incredible! This shows that infrastructrure is not what makes a good hospital good, is the people working there who makes the hospital a good place regardless of the circumstances that force you to be there
