"A&E treatment over New Year period"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

We attended the A&E department on New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and the early hours of Monday 5/1/15. My daughter was experiencing uncontrolable vomiting which contained blood. On each visit, she was cared for very well and received appropriate treatment and advice. Special mention to the paramedics who were calm and reassuring. Huge thanks to the registrar who found the correct 'cocktail' of medication to bring my daughters vomiting under control. We're on a slow road' but she'll get there. Small matter of the triage nurse on 1/1 - they were a bit tactless and offhand, but can't begin to imagine what they'd seen over the day! All in all, many thanks to all especially at this time of year.

Thanks for taking the time to write us a message, we're glad to hear your daughter's feeling better. We're also sorry that part of your experience fell short of what we aim to provide and will feed this back to the matron.
