"Not receiving follow up appointments"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

All of a sudden RBH has stopped sending out follow up appointments for the AMD clinic, last month I had to keep ringing and after about 2 weeks got a cancellation appointment, now the same has happened again this month, so I suppose I will have to keep ringing and keep leaving messages, in the hope that we might get an appointment. It should not be down to me to keep chasing for appointments, what has gone wrong with the administration?

Thank you for the feedback. The ophthalmology service, and AMD clinic in particular, has been experiencing a significant increase in demand which has caused some problems in seeing patients in a timely manner for which we apologise. In response to this problem we have been carrying out additional activity including weekend clinics and operations. We have also now recruited more doctors into the service, starting in January 2015, specifically to assist with the AMD service and we expect an improved service for our patients.
