"waiting"

About: King's Mill Hospital

After waiting for 9 hours for a doctor to attend to my 87 year old father, I was told that age wasn't a prioritising factor and he would have to wait his turn. He has a severe chest infection and after 48 hours of antibiotics there has been no improvement in his condition. I decided to drive down to see if it was worthwhile bringing him direct to a and e only to be greeted with 7 on-call doctors cars parked outside the primary care department.

Thank you for your message. We are not entirely sure if you were waiting for nine hours for a GP to visit your father at home but if so then please contact the local Clinical Commissioning Group on 0800 028 3693 who are responsible for that service. We have forwarded your message to them for information however they would require more patient details in order to investigate your concerns. With regards to the parking issue outside the Primary 24 department, there is a visitor car park located closely to the Emergency Department but we will forward your comments our car parking partner provider for their information and action as required with regards to doctors parking directly outside the department. If you would like to speak with our Patient Experience Team about this please call 01623 672222.
