"Rudeness of staff member"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

On visiting my newly born grandchild I encountered an HSA that I can only describe as rude and abrupt in her manner, visitors were ask to leave as there were to many round the bed, she added that this had also happened in the afternoon and it was unacceptable! I accept that there were too many visitors but if she had have waited a minute she would have seen that several of the visitors were leaving and just saying their goodbyes!!! You can't control when people turn up! It made both visitors and patient feel very uncomfortable. Training in manners and how to speak politely may not go a miss as the attitude of this young staff member left a lot to be desired! Also on leaving the unit I noted that at least 6 HSA 's sat at and leaning on the nurses station chatting and giggling which I didn't feel was very professional as a visual.

Thank you for your comments regarding the attitude of a member of staff when you recently came into the Princess Royal Hospital to visit your newly born grandchild. I am sorry to hear that a member of staff was rude to you and your concerns have been passed over to the manager of the ward for her to share with the staff.
