After being it picked up in a scan during the summer, I had an ovarian cyst removed in December 2014. I had a pre-op assessment a few weeks before which was very thorough and gave me lots of information and reassurance. My operation was on time. The ward was clean and calm. The nurses were efficient, kind and attentive. The surgeon and anaesthetist were helpful and gave me information and opportunities for questions; the anaesthetist even followed up later in the week (which has been prearranged).
I stayed in hospital for one night as the anaesthetic was still making me unwell but was out by 11 the next day.
I am still recovering a little, but wanted to thank all involved from radiography staff who picked the cyst up, my own GP who took tests and calmed me down, the gynaecologist I saw, the pre-op assessment nurse, the ward staff, the surgical staff and the surgeon.
We are so fortunate to have an NHS staffed by professional and dedicated people.
