My mother was discharged at 5.30 p.m. and had to wait until 1.30 a.m. for an ambulance to take her to her care home!
She had come to the hospital with heart failure and I do not think sitting waiting in the chair by the bed for 8 hours will do her heart failure any good at all! The next day she was upset and exhausted.
Surely an ambulance could have been found. I thought that there would be no difference in the service for people in Burnley because of using the Royal Blackburn - it appears to me that there is.
You can't tell me that there was an abudance of ambulances needed - how many were there on duty? Not enough?
