"Hernia Op!"

I had the misfortune to attend the Northern General in Sheffield recently, I attended day surgery and was discharged early afternoon as expected with a very swollen groin area, a scrotum that I could only decribe as a very inflated balloon! and severe bruising from my thighs up to my belly button. I presumed this was normal and the healing process would take care of this, how wrong I was! It turns out I had a blood clot which I had to return to hospital and have 1/2 litre of blood drained. The wound looked exactly the same when I returned to hospital as it did when I was discharged the first time.....could they not see there was a problem??
