"Unhappy with Glaucoma outpatients clinic"

About: Manchester Royal Eye Hospital

Arriving to my appointment to be reviewed after a 2 and a half hr wait. I can understand that the consultants are working hard to get through the large amount of patients. But something needs to be corrected to ensure waiting times are significantly reduced.i was also seem by a consultant who has never seen myself before. Not only did she not know any of my medical conditions history after looking through my notes also briefly but half way through asked me about the condition i do not have? I must say that the care of the consultants has always been the very best but on this occasion i was not pleased.

Please accept our sincere apologies about your experiences and for the long wait you experienced during your visit. Please be assured that the Management Team at the Eye Hospital monitor the waiting times very closely every day and make every attempt to divert resources to reduce waits if they possibly can. In addition, the team are working on a number of initiatives to increase the number of clinics provided in an attempt to reduce waiting times across all of the hospital services.
