Today has been 'lucky 13th' for me.
I was referred to Queen Margaret by my local surgery. I was given an appointment within ten days. The 13th was a Saturday, I arrived early, I was welcomed in an efficient and friendly manner and directed to the unit. There I was again expertly acknowledged and shown to waiting area. Well before my appointment time I was collected by a nurse who gave me the first stage preparation very pleasantly and expertly. Then taken to the next stage waiting area. Again I was collected by a young nurse and taken to the endoscopy room and met the endoscopist Dr Bernard. He was charming to me, and so obviously loved by his staff, which is just so nice, and it is obviously such a happy working environment.
The examination went well and I have no further follow up.
Afterwards I was served with a choice of sandwiches, they were excellent, and tea or coffee. Everything was done SO nicely and efficiently in an unhurried manner.
I regret that I have not noted the names of all the staff who cared for me, but I do hope that my appreciation will be conveyed to them all. I consider myself to have been so fortunate to have had such expert care and attention.
