Our son attended your dept beginning of September with a serious knee injury sustain whilst playing rugby. He could hardly walk he was not offered a wheelchair and was only xray and was sent home to come back 2 weeks latter! They missed a ruptured crucial anterior ligament! They did not scan him where they would have picked it up and he was not given any crutches or pain relief. When he returned 2 weeks later still having lots of problems the Dr said they neede to get a MRI scan done that week and took his mobile to contact him.Weeks went by and no contact and we had to contact Pals to put in a complaint and 8 weeks after the incident he got the scan. Two weeks latter he got the results and was told he would need to go on a waiting list for an operation which was 3 months after the injury! He is a student at Cumbria Uni and has come home for Xmas hols and we have arranged for him to have his operation today in Harrogate under private care.As hard working parents who pay taxes into the system and support the NHS we are extremely Disappionted with the treatment our son received at your A&E Dept and will be taking this further when we know what other damage has been done to his knee due to your DRS inadequate diagnosis and treatment.
