I have suffered from blackouts for approx 10 months and I have just removed from the Manchester area to this area in September. My doctor referred me to North Durham Hospital Cardiac unit. After my clinic visit I was offered a REVEAL implant, which i accepted and it was fitted some 6 weeks after my appointment. The members of the staff at the Cardiac day unit were professional, polite, respectful and extremely helpful in every way. Unfortunately the afternoon of the implant taking place I had another blackout , my wife rang the hospital who requested I attend the Cardiac investigation unit next morning , this I did . On seeing the doctor I was offered a PACEMAKER, as the implant had revealed an "flatline" of some 8 seconds duration. My procedure took place on 15 December. Again the staff in the Cardiac Day unit were terrific in every way and I have nothing but praise and the utmost respect for them. They removed the implant and put in the pacemaker and I spent the night in ward 11. here the staff were attentive and helpful in every way. I have no reservations about recommending this hospitals Cardiac unit to anyone requiring the best service possible.
