I broke my ankle on the last day of August and was admitted to A&E at Musgrove. The x-ray showed that surgery was needed and this was carried out in September as soon as the fracture was treatable. So, besides A&E, I have spent time in the orthopaedic clinic, the plaster room, the X-ray dept, Portman ward and the physio dept. I have lost count of the number of hospital staff who have helped me but I have been treated with absolute kindness and dignity throughout. From the lady who gave me a hand to wash and shave after my night on the ward to the surgeon who repaired my leg, from the cheerful reception staff to the physios who have got me moving again, all have done a terrific job and I am grateful to you all. It has been an enlightening and encouraging experience to see the NHS in action and Musgrove in particular.
